Using a sophisticated robotic platform, Dr. Cowart offers a minimally invasive alternative for major surgery. Davinci surgeries are typically done as a "day surgery" with 23 hour admit. Small incisions are used that introduce miniaturized wrist-ed instruments and a high-definition 3D camera. While seated comfortably at the da Vinci ® console, Dr. Cowart is able to view a magnified, high-resolution 3D image and at the same time, state-of-the-art robotic and computer technologies scale, filter and seamlessly translate his hand movements into precise micro-movements of the da Vinci ® instruments.
